dive watches are very popular just for the look. 99.9% of them will not see water deeper than a swimming pool. timex knows the market and actual divers are not it.

sidenote, why bother getting a quartz watch when your phone works just as well? mechanical with skeleton back or don't bother

Timex: You are probably right.

Sidenote: Phone is big and you need to recharge it once a day.

Affordable and usable 100% mechanical dive watces are a ... myth?

@Subcooled orient mako is about 120 usd online iirc

It seems to be a decent entry level dive watch (and at an affordable price).
The second hand has some luminous marking (for deco stops) but not the best possible.

My dive watch. Unfortunately it needs a battery.

No batterys, no quarz, just true hardcore - only mechanics! With self-winding. and WR200
You can keep it on the shelf for years, than take and use.

My favorite! Orient EM65003D.

I can no longer think of dive watches, without flashing on an old 1990s campaign for the Citizen Promaster. There were a few of them, all involving some greasy dude(s) and girls in bikinis, in a hot tub . . .

Society has at least made some progress! :D
