Which training to do first: fundies or drysuit?

It depends.

If you're going to mostly dive dry in the future, take drysuit first. Or get a competent mentor, because drysuit diving isn't voodoo. Some of us certify OW dry. If you'll be diving mostly wet, take Fundies first.
 
When I started out, I did drysuit first (with a soon to be GUE instructor)

Essentially I got a PADI drysuit course, with a GUE Primer course ontop of it.

Spent the next 50 dives dry and then did fundies. Also helped that 95% of the people I was diving with were GUE divers too.

Quite a number of GUE instructors also teach for other recreational organizations, I don’t think I’m familiar with the Bay Area instructors, but a search on the GUE site (GUE Instructors) and checking out the cv of instructors may help out a lot with your choice.
