Then surely you must have encountered blue painters tape for nitrox tank labeling.
 
I never said I haven't encountered painters tape. Yellow nitrox tape, blue painter's tape, whatever. My original point was that there isn't any need to go out and buy duct tape for marking your bottles when the shop will already have tape for you.

But if you want to spend extra money and go out of your way to get colorful tape that sharpie will just easily rub off, be my guest.
 
Rock on. You're going to find out quickly that sharpie runs off duct tape and or you will have trouble reading what your buddy has written on it while verifying gas changes.

It's not a coincidence that mailbox numbers have become the standard for MOD markings.
