Hello, so glad there is this forum!!
I'm recently certified Padi in August 2019. Im 55 years old and got certified with my 13 yo son. My husband had been certified but refreshed in August as well. So I am planning a vacation to California for next August we would like to dive Catalina Island. I definitely want guided dives because we lack experience. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Contact https://www.catalinadiverssupply.com/ ; they do guided dives and equipment rental. The guides I've had have been superb. You'll want to rent 7mm wetsuits if you don't have them; even in August the water's a bit chilly. If you're not staying on the island overnight, there are (hot water, indoor) showers available for $3 for 5 minutes near the dive park. They're well worth it, but bring shampoo and whatever toiletries you need.

Are you local (enough) to NYC? Come see us at the NYC Sea Gypsies dive club. Huge following, all types/ages of divers. Next meeting this Wednesday.

Welcome!

Thank you! That sounds great but on Long Island and working full time so we only get to the city a few times a year. But thanks again for the invite.

That is a great site thanks, I think that is the way to do it and this way we get to walk around Catalina Island so it's a two for one!

Michael, try LIDA, Long Island Diving Association.

Hope to see you underwater!
