Quick question y'all!

Is there anything in Sri Lanka that I'll see that can't be seen in Philippines ? Especially in Puerto Galera ?

Any unique reef fish, coral e.t.c?

Thx

Is there life that's unique to triconmalee area of Sri Lanka?

We dived Trincomalee in 2013 (or was it 14, not sure).

It was ok, but nothing at all like Philippines, I’ve not been to PG though. Would love to go back to Philippines, Sri Lanka not so much (even though it’s only a 3-4 hour flight a very cheap)

Sri Lanka is nice for wrecks. Either Colombo or the Batticaloa District in the east depending on season. Lots of fish, and nice corals on the older wrecks. If reef diving / macro photography / pelagics are your thing then Philippines is by far the better option. SL has nothing special in terms of marine life that you cannot see in Philippines.

Lots of blue and sperm whales in SL but getting into the water with them is prohibited except for groups with special permits. All the local operators doing it are illegal and you run the risk of being stopped or detained by the Coast Guard.
