Captain Andy took pity on us and invited us to look for squid eggs in the Santa Monica Bay. We headed into the growing swells to one of Andy's Top Secret Spots. There were patches of eggs dotting the bottom with a few dead and dying squid flitting around. Lots of tiny subjects covered the bottom but I had the wrong lens to get them clear enough.

While Andy was making his second dive, Merry looked worriedly at the rising swells. I agreed that it was time to call it a day. Although it was warm and sunny on the water, we drove through a little light rain on the way home. Still, a much better way to spend the day than sitting at home waiting to get our boat back from the shop.
