Hi, I was given a Poseidon Cycklon 5000 second stage. It's not working and I will try to rebuild it. If any one has the service manual, please can you send it to me.

Thanks.

Drop me a pm with your email, I have them in one of my archives.

just an FYI, you need a first stage capable of a ~160psi IP for that second stage to work properly. N

Below, is a link to an overall Poseidon manual, covering a number of regulators, including the Cyklon, whose second stage hasn't appreciably changed in decades:

https://www.divestock.com/downloads/dl/file/id/213/poseidon_manual.pdf

A word of warning: the Cyklon can be a bit of a bitch to work on, without a couple of specialized items -- a drift (which can be substituted by a simple dowel arrangement) and an "assembly tool" (see photo -- that honking metal doorstop on the left, next to the drift, which does nothing more than attach a little metal widget), which can be more of an issue; so some patience will be required, if it is to be done by hand.

You can manage without them; but it can pose a challenge, especially with the temperamental retaining clip (said widget), which has a tendency, if not handled carefully, to fling itself across a room, and, potentially, startle family and pets. I've done it a few times in the field, with just me mitts; and it's a real drag.

The regulator also operates at a particularly high pressure (the highest, so far as I know) -- 11.5 bar / 167 psi -- so pairing it with another first stage (which will tolerate that and function normally), may be equally challenging . . .

Thanks people.
I was aware that the Poseidon works with higher IP.

Thanks people.
I was aware that the Poseidon works with higher IP.

I know that that is common knowledge; figured that you knew; but most other first stages, may not function optimally at higher pressures than their specs allow; nor any other non-Cyklon octopus, Poseidon or not . . .

it is only the cyklon second stage that operates at the higher IP. ..the Jetstream and Xstreams run at much more “normal” IP, Somewhere around 130psi (just from memory)

I know that that is common knowledge; figured that you knew; but most other first stages, may not function optimally at higher pressures than their specs allow; nor any other non-Cyklon octopus, Poseidon or not . . .

I don’t know about “common knowledge”, as misinformation re Poseidons is rampant. I have people almost start an argument with me swearing that “all poseidons” should be at to ~160psi of IP. And they they “all fail closed”.... pssst!

Hi,

Does Anybody have a link or PDF they can email of the Poseidon Cyklon 1st & 2nd Stages Service Manual.
