Thank you this info is very helpful. I have a 2 week trip to Anthony’s Key in Roatan coming up and I think I am going to give it a try.
Thanks again.

This happened to me in St. Lucia. Completely my fault and realized that the housing was taking on water when I hit about 10'. The dive was supposed to be 70' and the camera is rated for 60'. I stayed at the 55' or less for an hour and the camera was fine one I got back on board, opened the case, rinsed it, and dried it off.

I've had my DC2000 for a couple of years now and am very happy with it. I got a good deal from my LDS and have added the macro, wide angle lens, flex arms and the 5000F auto video light.

I'm taking an underwater photography class in Bonaire in June and expect some improvement. My facebook profile and cover shot were shot raw with the DC2000.

Yeah it's a good mid grade rig. Tried to sign me and the wife up for some photography lessons with a company in Bonaire for a trip in June and the instructor emailed me back and said he stopped teaching on Sea Life cameras for various reasons. I know the camera has a few weak points but didn't figure it would have that many issues that someone wouldn't teach a lesson with it. I've seen some pretty amazing shots taken with this camera.

I was never tempted with a SeaLIfe rig until the DC2000. I like that if it is lost or damaged as I travel it is not going drive me crazy.

So far, so good.
