Silk Air announced their intent to transfer the Singapore - Manado route to Scoot in the spring. It looks like Silk Air ends service on 5/4/2020 but I am still unable to find any information about Scoot's plans or schedule. Has anyone heard if this route will be discontinued or if Scoot intends to change the schedule?
I have been unimpressed with Scoot in other markets and I'm not sure divers coming into Manado will appreciate their strict baggage weight limits and fees. From North America, I think a connection through Shanghai, Hong Kong, or Taipei would be preferable to Singapore anyway, but I haven't heard of any new routes planned besides Davao. It looks like for now, I'll have to plan on going through Jakarta. Was looking at an early May trip to Lembeh and maybe another destination in the Maluku or Togean islands.

From HK the best connection to Manado is still via Singapore.
There is NO way that this route will be discontinued by SQ or its subsidiary.

Flight to Manado from Singapore is still bookable on SQ home page but only until 01st May. Ask SQ for clarification.

Silk air is probably history! https://www.singaporeair.com/silkair-redirect.html

I have flown Garuda Airlines from HK to Sorong via Jakarta and the flight was cheaper then Jakarta to Sorong. Garuda was really good with my luggage, no extra charges, 50LB checked in.

The Davao to Manado route restarted at the end of Sept, I would like to find out how that is going. It looks like it's pretty cheap. It is much shorter then going to Jakarta and flight back east to Manado.

Need to go to Manado in September for a Bluewater Photo workshop at NAD Lembeh (my second one there). Hope they get the routes settled by then, I plan to fly Singapore Air like last time.

We are heading there in April/May and there were no silk air flights to be found. I have been advised by Airline agents and Manado ops that the only reliable way to get there is via Jakarta.

As mentioned above SilkAir will still operate until 4th May 2020 which is their last flight SIN-Manado-SIN.
Flights are still operating as normal up until then. After that it's Scoot (no timetable yet)

:(

Just read that PAL has also announced flights from Davao to Manado on Tues, Thu, and Sat.
LAX-MNL-DVO-MDC return on PR was $250 less than SQ via SIN and was bookable around my desired dates in May. I would certainly prefer a Singapore layover to Manila but at least there are several options until Scoot figures their schedule out.

Give me Manila any time if I can save $250.00 on flight! The saving is more than enough to compensate all the bad vibes, food and traffic, in Manila. And more importantly, I prefer SMB than Tigers.
