The big advantage with LP tanks comes when you pump them up to 3900psi. Smaller than an al80, far more gas inside. If you aren't going to overfill them, then I don't know why anyone would bother.

My reasoning was to try to get non-aluminum doubles with more capacity without turning into a boat anchor with a wing failure in a thick wet suit.

I have a 19cf and 40cf currently. It'll take some getting used to as I do not feel as streamlined as previously.

PADI Tec pretty much demands redundant bouyancy, and I don't think they mean a lift bag. I went with double 120ft3 steels, with an LPI on each post. I like the 120s because I'm tall and they fit the same tank bands as 80's. But you be you.

Double hp 120’s and triple AL80’s with shorts and t shirt . Redundant wing and a couple lift bags on hand. No big deal. Never had problems with lift but had problems with ditchable weight ditching itself

I would never dive double steels and a wetsuit over a soft or deep bottom. I would want to be able to sink to the bottom if necessary and then figure out my SMB or just rock climb out.
