Gotta be out there many days to catch the great days (yesterday), the many good days and unfortunately some bad ones.

Wow, what a difference a day makes. Went out with Starfish this morning to do a double on the Castor. The water was greenish brown compared to yesterday's blue. The mate, Ren, went down to tie in, found very brisk current with visibility less than 10 feet, he never saw the Castor. A regular on the boat, Alex, went down with his scooter and had no better luck. The entire reef had the same water covering it. The trip was canceled and we went in. This is only the second time in 10 years that I have gotten all the way out to the dive site and have not been able to dive. The great trip to the Castor yesterday made this visit to Florida, you win some and you lose some, you should always try.

Bummer but with the green, churned up water from Dorian still hanging around it's not super surprising. The boats further north in Palm Beach and Jupiter haven't been running for several weeks due to the green, no-viz conditions. Hopefully there won't be any more storms and it'll clear out of here.

I spoke to Dave from Splashdown Divers in Boynton earlier today. He said he hasn't run a trip in 6 weeks, partially weather related and partially due to fear of conditions causing out of towners to cancel dive trips. We're scheduled to dive with him at the end of the month, now we're got Tropical storm Jerry on the radar.

Current predictions don't look very good until early next week. Currently, the path of Jerry looks to be about 600 miles off the coast, let's hope it stays that way.
