Shearwater Language Change

Hi all, wanna ask about language change on the petrel 1.
Is the change just a simple setting in the menu, or does it necessitate a firmware update or something like that?
Context is a petrel 1 in Chinese, want to change to English.

in the settings there is a language. In the manual somewhere it will show you exactly where it is

You might have to get someone who reads Chinese to do it for you

Hi Melvin,

Remove the battery cap and then reinstall. On every battery change you are prompted to pick the language.

Firmware builds that support alternate languages always have English available as well. After the battery change instructions will appear on screen for both languages.

Or you could start Bluetooth and perform a firmware upgrade to the English only firmware.

No issues there, since thankfully, Chinese is one of my mother languages too
