Just got a Scubapro Universal Tool off eBay, at about half-price; not the Scubatools Multi-Tool, but the Scubapro one, part nr. 43040000, made in Italy.

The body appears to be made of plastic; the whole thing weight only 108 g/3.8 oz.

I don't feel too confident doing the cap with its built-in hook spanner. Does anybody have experience with it? Do I have to be extra careful?

I have not broken one yet - but then for routine things like cap removal I use the older brass tool or just a hook spanner.

The multi-tool version befor ethis one was made froma aluminum and they woudl crack where the pin entered the tool with the result that the pin falls out and it won't do that job any more. i don't know oif this one is any better, but it ptobably is not nay worse.

I have noted you have to adjust the pin on the end to properly engage the splines and the newer inlet fitting nuts are a little smaller in diameter than the older straight splined nuts (orignal G250, etc). I also worry about the durability of that part as it puts nearly all the stress on the pin and where it is anchored in the plastic part of the tool.

The tool itself is also uncomfortable to use, so it gets low marks and I only use it for what I have to use it for - which means it sees very little use, but the light weight does make it a good travel tool.

iv been trying to find this multi tool on ebay for a while now, cant find it anywhere.
anyone knows where else can i buy it in a shop with worldwide shipping ?

Beware Scubatools uses UPS for shipping, exclusively: it'll cost you $42 extra on top of the $35 for the tool. Not very cost effective outside of the US, unless you buy a whole bunch of stuff.

The original tool comes up once a year or so on eBay in Europe or in the US. Keep watching on BOTH ebay.ie AND ebay.com.

Is there a manual, or work sheet, usually provided with this tool? I'd love to know what the 13 functions are.

Anyone got a copy they'd be happy to share?

Not a good copy I'm afraid. Still looking for one as I lost my original.
