Does anyone have experience or recommendations to share re. combined strobe and video lights?

I shoot both stills and video, on the same dive, as the mood takes me. At the moment I only own video lights, but they aren't ideal for still photos (fish tend to run away from video lights more than strobes, and video lights aren't as powerful in the instant as strobes). Also I travel, so the idea of having both options combined into a single package always available with me on a dive is highly appealing - but I'm not sure what level of compromises or frustrations this would involve as compared to separate dedicated solutions? Appreciate hearing any experiences!

You might want to take a look at the symbiosis strobes. They have an actual strobe and a video light combined into one unit. However no ttl on them. I just picked up one of the new symbiosis ss3 models to try out but have not gotten it yet

Yep, that is one of the models I've seen. I'm interested to know what level of real-world compromise using them involves compared to separate dedicated video light and strobe setups, if anyone has used one?

Depth rating of 60m is a bit of a compromise already on the Symbiosis models compared to my 100m video lights.

The symbiosis is probably the best out there, much more useful than the Ikelite version. If you need a 100 m version (the symbiosis will be OK at that depth but the buttons probably won't work well) then I think you will need to go to a dedicated strobe.

For me they were fine, always fired and lots of flashes and good burn time.
