My wife and I will be in Vero Beach in August. She’s a beach goer and I’m wanting to scuba or snorkel for game fish, lobster or lion fish. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I will need to rent tanks/bc so where is a reputable dive shop that could accommodate me? Thx

Dive trips will necessarily go out of an inlet so check Dive Oddysea in Ft. Pierce for that and for rental, also deep six in Vero offers rentals, don't know about trips.
Beach diving may work out in August but the days of decent vis are few even in summer, however there's a very nice ledge system off Pepper Park starting 50 to 100 yards off the beach.
If you want to try an awesome drift dive go south to Scuba Works in Jupiter. It's worth the drive.

Exactly what full throttle said.

I’ll add there are very few (none really) dive ops that operate in this area. The viz changes in hours and can not be predicted well enough to book a boat.

I kayak dive Pepper Park area. There are some lobster there and sheepshead. The occasional mutton snapper. It is the ocean though and anythong coupd decide to swim by.
