In the last few weeks I saw a post about the top safety gear everyone should carry. I have searched up and down for it and have found many but not the one I want. In this thread there was a guys that discussed a piece of homemade gear that he mad after talking to a coast guard rescuer. I think it may have been a bag that was vacuum sealed, and he felt pretty strong that everyone should have one and was making them and sending them out. Does anyone remember that thread. My searches are coming up blank.

I do remember it mentioned in one thread that a simple orange or yellow oversized trash bag is easy to spot from the air.
Until deployed, they take up very little space and weigh nothing.

I don't remember anyone prefabbing anything, sorry.
