Hi all
I have installed a bauer petrol compressor on my boat deck in a fiberglass box. I was intending to leave the compressor in the box while running as its a weighty little thing and I didn't fancy trying to lift it and move it around a rocking boat when Im out and about. I was intending to cut a removable panel in the side of the box for the exhaust and run an air hose up the mast.
There is a good six inches of space round all side of the compressor and I would keep the lid of the box open at all times.
However a neighbour has suggested that the compressor will get too hot in the box and I either need to accept lifting it out for use or cut decent sized holes in each side of the box to allow air flow.
Also I would rather not have vents as a plain box looks boring, but one with vents makes it look interesting and may attract unwanted light fingered attention.
So the question is, do I need air vents in each side of the box, and if so how big would you suggest they be?
