WOW.....that gauge looked like it was reading 90mph!

I suspect that could have been Kmph reading, but seeing the damage I wouldn't doubt it.

If it was 90 thats a pretty powerful car to only be running at 2100 rpm.

Well, you hit the brakes as you go off the road. I'd say he was going maybe 110 and was off the gas and hitting the breaks by the time impact occurred.

Hmm, that’s not half the car it used to be.

Notice the airbag did not deploy. I guess side impact bags are a good thing.

No signs of blood so these ones got thrown out quickly.

Judging from location, the driver and passenger were probably peeled off of one of the trees.
The blankets (two) and the ambulance still sitting there say it all. :pity_part At least it was instant.

Speedo slowed down to 90mph before being epitaphed.

DO NOT drink  and drive :auto:

Can't tell what vintage and model the Audi was but on my 2003 VW, made in 2002, it has side impact "curtains". The instrument cluster in the photos looks the same as my VW. The VW Passat and one of the Audi A series are very close cousins. Same instrument cluster, same keys, etc.

Any VW/Audi people here? When did they go to the curtains?

Seatbelts do save lives.

However I doubt they would of done much good in this instance...
Sorry for the families...

Even the engine got thrown..

This really reminds me of that saying about Life.
Something about at the end of which one arrives in a worn out body saying,
"WOW! What a ride!!" :54:

Guess they took it a little too literal.

The car used to be an Audi. If you look at the vehicles in the background, they sport German plates, I believe. Also, the ambulance/rescue vehicle does not look like a North American one.

Hope the driver was the only one in the car.
