Have been going to Stockton most weekends and getting a few dives in. Does anyone else on the board make it to Stockton?

Vis has been low this year, averaging 5-10 feet. Thermocline is currently at about 28 feet.

I have never been there. What is the depth and topography. Does it have a lot of boat traffic, etc...? Thanks.

It is a shallow lake, you can hit 100 foot in the old river channel. Can be quite a bit of boat traffic in the summer. Visibility varies, but is generally low. I like it since it's close, and for low vis training.

I bought my boat at the marina there! I've heard of people diving in it, but I haven't ever gone. I'm struggling with finding local training spots; maybe I can check it out sometime. I'm about three hours away.

Is it a rock bottom, or mud?

It depends on where you go. Even the rocky areas have a lot of silt.

I did a 43 minute dive on Sunday afternoon. Visibility was down to 4-5 foot, thermocline was at 31 feet. Rock bottom with a ton of silt.
