Servicing Apeks and Aqualung seconds. Rubber or silicone low pressure seats?

Yes, I was a little surprised too. I could be wrong but pretty sure I'm not. Trying to remember where I got that info from.

Are the Apeks, Aqualung and Hollis internal O-rings mostly silicone? They seem too soft and glossy smooth to be Viton even though different Duro hardnesses are available.

Apeks uses EPDM o rings.

That explains why some O-rings have a light blue color when I open the regulators. What is odd is the replacements in the kit I purchased five years ago are all black. None are blue.

The manufacturers change the colour of o rings to suit themselves, there's no rhyme or reason to it.

I've only ever seen black, certainly over the last 10 or so years.

viton is often brown, sometimes you'll see green viton *poseidon was notorious for those* with the nitrox kits, etc. Color doesn't mean anything
