I've used the Sealife trade in 4 times so far. Last year a DC1400 for a DC2000. Just received yesterday the new .5 Wide Angle dome lens for my old fisheye lens plus a few bucks. 21 days of diving in Cozumel starting next weekend.

Sealife has great customer service which is why I've been with them since my first mini.

Sent my Reefmaster Mini in on Wed. April 5 by USPS. It was delivered on the Mon. (9th) although it would have been delivered on the 7th but no one was there to receive it. I got a call from Pioneer Research on Tuesday (10th) so I could make payment for the new upgrade DC2000. I was concerned about them sending it as I am leaving Saturday for the Bahamas. The rep checked the delivery schedule and said I should get it by Thursday (12th), so I said go for it. I was supposed to get an email from FedEx so I could track delivery. Never got it and was a little worried the camera didn't get sent right away, but It wound up at my door today, delivered by UHaul/FedEx. Never knew UHaul and FedEx were partnered together. Anyway, I have a new camera and have to say the service/process was pretty good/quick!

NO comparison to my 1200....what clarity and detail!!!

Didn’t use my video light although I had it attached and took some pics/videos while in dive mode and some in snorkel mode. Boy, am I excited!!

Wanted to post a few.

My first experience with the DC2000 was excellent. I found it easy to use having been a user of the DC1200 previously - many similarities. Really liked not having to remove the battery to charge it. Also liked the mobile device (iPhone and iPad for me) app that allowed me to transfer photos to my device using wifi. I could then move any photos to my Photos app (Apple product) and edit if I wanted to or send a photo/video by various means directly from the mobile app. Wanting more, I wish the app was also available for laptop/desktop and had editing software built into it.

The photos have much greater detail as does the video from my previous camera. Although I didn't use a flash or video light, either would help bring in truer colors to the photos on deeper dives. I did use a wide angle lens on the last several dives of my trip - a perfect fit from my old DC1200.

The following pictures are all at 40-50 feet (about 80' for the gray angelfish), automatic underwater or snorkel settings, no external light source, and with the wide angle lens. The previous pics I posted were under the same conditions, but no wide angle lens.

I had bought the Micro 2.0 because it was totally sealed but found that it was a bit clunky - slow and not a lot of features so I upgraded to the DC2000. I would like a wide angle lens but am uncertain if the 0.50 is too wide or should I go for the 0.75 conversion lens. Does anyone have experience with either of them? Thanks, Duffy

I use the Fisheye wide angle as the default on my DC 1200. Like the greater depth of field and not much distortion. Mostly for fish ID stuff. Take it off for something small and not moving.

Not that it helps @Duffy1 but for others who may have the same situation as myself - I bought the Sealife Wide Angle Lens, sl970, when I got the DC1200 camera years ago. It also works well with the DC2000.

Edit - sorry for the repeat. I see I indicated this on my previous post.

I have both. I don’t find the 0.5x too wide it’s got a nice coverage. It’s all personal preference but for me the 0.75x is a tad narrow. If you have any experience with the older lenses they are about the same coverage I have both of them as well, but much sharper and clearer image. Not the sharpest I’m still learning but the angle of view from DC2000 with 0.5x wide angle. Hope that helps!

To add one more lens to the conversation: I recently purchased a new SL975 for my DC2000. SL975 is a 0.6X wide angle. It's not currently in production but they can still be purchased new. I picked mine up at my local dive shop but a quick google search found it on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/SeaLife-Fish...?ie=UTF8&qid=1533169858&sr=8-1&keywords=sl975
The 0.6X SL975 is $279 compared to the 0.5X SL050 for $499.

Is this the same lens you use @Steve_C?
