Also try watching the 007 film 'never say never again'. Its a remake of Thunderball by a different production company. They used Sean Connery to play bond even though at that time the official films had already started to use Roger Moore. Plenty of excellent diving scenes in this film, plus a very young Kim Basinger so well worth a watch.

Big fan of the underwater scenes in the Bond movies particularly Thunderball (filmed by underwater cinematographer legend Lamar Boren who earlier worked on Sea Hunt, Flipper and later two other Bond movies You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me).

What amazes me, seeing Thunderball again recently, was the complexity of the UW scenes with fast paced action and actors zooming left and right firing Technisub Jaguar pneumatic and CO2 spearguns with REAL tips!
Maybe some of those shots of Bad Guys with spears through their legs or arms aren't faked :D

Loved the gadgets too... as a kid I always wanted to be Q, not Bond

What do you guys think??
Want to dive the Bond wrecks/movie sets - go to Stuart Cove's on Nassau, they're all within 20mins or so of the shop since the two movies were filmed there. The bomber is just a shell of what it was since the skin has completely dissolved but the ships should still be fairly intact.

(not my videos)

Maybe I have the wrong movie, but I remember a documentary about the 007 movies where they said the most "inquired" about Bond gadget of all time was the ink pen sized miniature scuba tank he used to get out of the shark tank tunnel. The producers said they were bombarded with people wanting to know if it existed and where they could get one. One of them remarked that, "it doesn't exist of course, but if we could have made one really work we would have made more money off of it than the movie!!!"

Cool! I didn't know there was a Jimmy Bond movie that was about scuba stuff. I'll have to go see if I can find the whole thing.

Boat in the background is a Buehler, a high end boat in the day. They renamed the boat model for the movie, the Buehler Thunderball. I happen to be a Buehler fan, having owned one for over 20 years. No, not a Thunderball. Mine is just a little Jet 32. It is a rather crappy dive boat. But it is a fun run about boat.
