Maybe we can get Sharky to post his picture of the mother toadfish with her babies.
 
 
Baby below mouth in this one I believe. It wasn't until my wife took a pic of a Splendid a few years ago and someone looked at the pic, zoomed in and said THERE'S BABIES THERE (which we never noticed before). Sure enough, they were there and they were there in several other pics she had taken of them over the years. Check out all your old pics of Splendids, zoom way in and and look all around... There may be more there than you thought! (and they just don't hang out under momma's big mouth) they'll hang out all around the area momma can see and protect in an instant.
