Blue Corner Diving Day Trips Dive Safaris

As its name implies, Blue Corner is a dive in the blue where you’re projected at full speed over an impressive underwater relief. This is Bali’s dive that will send shivers down your spine; one that we all dream about in secret, but can barely dare to jump from the boat. If conditions allow, the Atlantis instructors and dive guides will take you on this great adventure!

Quickly! Everyone must jump and fin kick in a head-down descent as fast as possible in order to reach the wall that descends to depths of 30 - 40 metres. Over an abrupt slope, the dive truly begins as you let yourself drift with the current to experience the intense sensations and to enjoy the surroundings that guarantee a show.
Schools of eagle rays do flips in the current, fish speed by single-file lines, tuna and other large fish observe you from afar, sharks rest idly while swimming into the current, and there’s a good chance to see a Mola mola (Sun fish) between the months of June and October

Blue Corner Dive Site – Map & Review of Blue Corner in Bali, Indonesia, Nusa Penida / Nusa Lembongan, Indonesia

The Blue Corner dive site in Nusa Penida is THE place to drift dive in Bali! The current can be very strong and for this dive will give you an adrenaline rush! However this site is reserved for advanced divers and with experience of drift diving. It is a steep slope with a plateau around 20 m deep but most of the dive is around 30 m. You can see sharks, huge rays and also the world famous Mola Mola (Oceanci Sunfish)! Depending on the tide and the current, the visibility can be sometimes bad and the water quite cold.

Who to dive with? Dive clubs operating here include Blue Corner Dive Centre

Blue Corner is sometimes classified as a Drift dive. This location is a Reef.
You can dive Blue Corner all year long. Access: from the Shore. See the map of Blue Corner on the right for the exact location.

Downcurrents coined with hoards of inexperienced divers, diving with shoddy operators

Just don't get exited & astray too far off the corals into the blue water, when you see the dang Mola-Mola. Be ready to grab on & hang on the rock for your dear life when the down current kicks in. Watch your bubbles going down to the abyss.

Yes, this is a big reason. Also, it's at the very end of the island so if you miss the corner and drift out there's nothing but big blue and massive currents. There have been multiple cases of divers drifting from here including one memorable case years ago when one of the divers was found in Java (the others in his party didn't make it). Many of us old timers remember the Czech dive center (no longer operating) who lost divers from that site in consecutive years.

I'd be really careful with dive operations in Sanur.

This is a massively sweeping statement. There are many dodgy dive operators in Bali in all areas of the island and there are also many excellent ones. In Sanur you could feel confident diving with my dive center (Bali Scuba), Crystal Dive, Atlantis, Joe's Gone Diving, BIDP and a number of others. There are also some excellent operators on Lembongan including (as you mentioned) Two Fish and also World Diving.

The problem is the more reputable dive operators tend to charge more than the dodgy ones.

I don't think anyone would suggest this is a shore dive... Seems a bit of a strange quote.

Yea. I usually go there by boat. You may want to ask the Blue Corner Dive Centre for clarification.

Yep, that's precisely why I suggested to be careful about dive operations in Sanur. Not that all are bad, but you have to be careful to choose the good ones.
