Mod: Please do not move this to "Accidents and Incidents". Many in this forum knew Nathan.

Hello, Indo divers. I'm sad to report that Nathan de Cruz, one of the really fine dive guides at Yos Dive Lembeh, passed away yesterday while on the job in Lembeh Strait. Nathan was a great, funny guy, with a beautiful wife and young son. We dived with him last October, and had plans to again this November.

I know scant few details about the incident, and would prefer not to speculate on the cause right now. It did in fact occur while he was in the water with a group of divers. There's nothing more of substance that I can add.

If you know Yos Amerta, or the resort, even if you don't, please feel free to leave your respects.

yeah.. sad news.. i met him before.. nice guy..

Any news on what happened?

Disclaimer: Everything I've heard is second hand.

I have been told that Nathan had some heart health issues which others were unaware of, likely inherited. It happens, even though he was young and in excellent condition. So while it happened while diving, it was apparently not caused by any error in dive safety protocol.
