I use the 18650's from SubGravity / Hammerhead. They are Japanese cells, and manufactured by Panasonic/Sanyo, and are protected.
 
Thanks for the recommendation and I agree with you that Panasonic/Sanyo should better.
 
I have both the Samsung 2600s and Panasonic 3400s for my Archon W42VR (5200 lumens). Haven't done any burn time testing, but both works well
