I'm a Fish!
Anyone dive blue springs? Got any advise for going there? I'm going to be in the area in a few weeks and think it might be worth checking out.

its been a few years since I dove it, so you'll have to excuse me, as I may be foggy

You have to be cavern of higher I believe to carry dive lights. At the top theirs a nice bowl, that goes down to if I remember around 10', that starts the opening from actual cave. Theirs a bunch of ledges from that point down to around 60' , the whole width is about a 6' body length wide with decent flow from the spring

Down past 60' ( again,, I may be off on the depth here) you'll see a sign cave divers only

From their it drops down to somewhere around 110' to 125' If I remember to the actual cave opening. At the bottom where you can't go unless qualified, it's a big circle around the flow, which is in the middle of the floor. Ledge all around the flow, to sit, swim around, and peer down inside

Going back up, narrow, lot's of ledges to sit under and off gas

Dove it a couple weeks ago, only saw two other divers, I was there when the gates opened. The park was full by the time we left, probably 10:30am. There's a pretty long hike from the parking lot to the dive point. I had trouble getting down into the spring because of the current.

thanks for the replies! Sounds like a cool dive spot to go check out while up that way. just looked up some info and could kayak down the st john's river when done. should be a good time.

Interesting little spot, cool dive to check out if you happen to be in the area. Not a huge area but we spent the morning there then drifted down the river to where we parked the car.
