Im going lobstering off Florida next week (mini-season). Has anyone tried taking a lobster snare in their carry-on luggage on an airplane? (Its too long for my checked bag)

Thanks!

You may want to check, but when we lived in the Keys we were under the impression that it was illegal to snare lobster. You had to use a tickle stick & net.

I placed the snares in a 38" mailing tube (free from the post office) and they sailed right through the carry on scanner at MCI with no problem.

Snares are indeed legal in Florida.

Good to know. Thanks for the follow-up.

I operate under the assumption that a persons hands is the ultimate combination tickle stick/net/snare....and they generally have no issues getting through TSA checkpoints.
