Nice long encounter. Wow. Adm. Linda and I saw one, very briefly but closer and clearer, at Eric's the day after Christmas. And Linda had seen another one while on the surface at the end of the first dive that day.

I'm amazed that his breathing rate didn't go way up and he could still hold the camera steady.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I would have shouted "Holy ****" through my regulator and gotten an adrenaline rush to rival a junkie.

Had the great moments to drop into a pod of Gray whales moving south to Mexico in La Jolla Cove, San Diego.

I was diving in murky waters at Church Rock off Catalina's backside (near "Seal" Rocks) when I sensed something big in the water near me. Thinking it was the landlord, I hunkered into a crevice and spent the rest of my dive filming there until I had to surface. When I got up to the boat people asked "Did you get footage of it?" I replied "You saw the great white?" to which they responded "No, you had a baby gray whale hanging above you for about 20 minutes!" Never saw it in the murk.
