Not sure.. typical size we see...I've seen a few of them that size, if bigger, only by a mm or so..
(thus the reason I asked a few pages back the size of the nudi's ya'll see)

I posted this one earlier this month. I saw a black speck. Shot it. Only once I got it in the RAW viewer did I realize I had a nudi. thing was only a couple mm long..
(and causing a stir, as it apparently is only the second one found at the bridge! woot!)

How do you find these things? Seriously, how do you even know where to look?

I look for anything that looks out of place. A spot on a hydroid, something of a different color on a rock or piece of rust or I'll look for eggs and sometimes find the egg layer nearby. There is an old Navy barge in the Redondo Beach (CA) Artificial Reef. It rests upside down with the surface flaking bits of rust. I'll turn over a hand-size piece of rust and look for specks. Sometimes I can make out rhinophores. When I shoot macro I usually use a Nikon 60mm with a 1.4 teleconverter and a SubSee +10 diopter for the really tiny guys. The diopter swings out and can be used as a magnifying glass, but I always forget to try that.

Sometimes I get interesting bycatch. I took a shot of an abalone and found a tiny clear shrimp that I couldn't see with the naked eye.
