Subjectively, I guess in certain circumstances your "plug" would be correct.

Nonetheless, good overall fitness does make diving easier, safer, and more fun. I just completed a training course where we tested our SAC. My SAC was .5 cf. Not bad! The exercising paid off.

Cross training makes all of my adventures more fun and productive.
