Heading to Australia next June for 3 weeks and will be in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Looking for suggestions for dive sites worth considering in those areas.

Thanks

Mate when you go to Brisbane consider:

A boat trip to Flinders Reef
The Gold Coast Seaway on the norther end of the Gold Coast (no boat required)
Cook Island on the southern end of the Gold Coast
A day trip to Byron Bay to dive Julian Rocks
A day trip to the Sunshine Coast to dive the wreck of HMAS Brisbane (my pick)

Hope this helps,
David

Cheers mate, appreciated

Sydney, try Bare Island and Magic Point Sharks (Google them).

Sydney and surrounds

South West Rocks ... Fishrock (about 6 hours drive north of Sydney - boat dives)

Terrigal ... Ex HMAS Adelaide (about an hour drive north of Sydney - boat dives)

Sydney ... Bare Island, Kurnell, Clifton Gardens, Shelly Beach - shore dives

Shellharbour ... Bass Point (about an hour drive south of Sydney)

Jervis Bay ... (about 3 hours drive south of sydney - boat dives)

Thanks for the inputs guys

Simon, you need to meet up with Fish (thanksforallthefish) and BoP (Bowl of Petunias) when you get to Sydney, I dived with them in Lembeh last July / August :D

Lest us know closer to the time of your arrival and maybe we can meet up and show you some dive sites. :) Thanks for the vote of confidence Searcaigh is this person a friend of yours? Any friend of yours will be most welcome..

Ha ha never dived with him yet BoP, but usually meet him after he has a squeaky voice from too much Helium coming back from an early deep dive or in the dive shop haven tanks filled.

I think the last time we were on the same boat together he was about three years ago, he was with his daughter and I was with mine :)

The squeaky voice is nothing to do with the helium, just a tight wetsuit
