AFAIK this rumour is unfounded. The owner Richard Headrick abhores the consumption of alcohol as he is a "born again" Christian and that's apparently a tenet of their philosophy. However, he was advised that such a stance would damage his income so he's decided "reluctantly" to allow the sale of alcohol.

Note also that appears the resort is being rebuilt in the original rustic style, which will again make it a tinderbox. Local residents were extremely lucky with the wind strength and direction on the night of the fire. When it was originally built there were no other buildings in the vicinity. Now there are numerous wooden buildings close by and the owners/occupies of those buildings are becoming very nervous at what they are seeing.

Nice to know he can be flexible when it comes to money . . . Eye of a needle and all that. Har
