Don't know if this was asked but if it has sorry :cool2:.Is it legal to harvest lion fish in John pennekamp state park in Key largo?

Here's a link to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission page regarding the rules for harvesting in the state.

Lionfish FAQs

Short answer is that you can catch them with a hand held net almost anywhere.

That is interesting, I keep hearing how bad these Fish are off of Florida and other parts of the Gulf.

Seemed like they are or should be open season to rid this non native fish from the area that is causing harm to other fish populations. I don't know, lots of media buzz on them.

I had some diver want a different type of custom pole spear to shoot them faster on a dive. That project is in process. This one guy wants to shoot high volume on a single dive, 50+, I think I can come up with something.

Is all the Anti-Lion fish chatter in the gulf True?
