I don't have a clue Joe. I am planning to hike further up the creek we were in. It produces so well that my thought process is, if I find larger gravel I will find larger specimens. Fast forward and check out the 6:22 mark on this vid for Kim. Also look at the soil and the gravel, as if you need to be told that, right...

Lee I do agree with you. The larger the gravel the bigger the teeth. I do think you're headed in the right direction and your creek should produce well. Good Luck.

Well I hunted up some more spots to park and enter. The two targets are Coosaw and Rumphs creek. I know Rumphs creek produces Hemi's and Great White, I have never heard claim that Coosaw produces anything. Actually the water is warm enough for me to motor my canoe up the Edisto to the HUGE gravel bed I have been working with scoop and screen. Just need the level to decline. If you know anyone that hunts creeks, let them know, because I wanna hunt the Chandler Bridge creek feeder again and I like company.

Joe<Lee I,m going to hit the Edisto Saturday, If you are any others are interested let me know. The water level is back down to a doable level.

Looks like a lower left molar from a canid/felid. A big 'un. Good hunting, guys. Rivers in NW GA are VERY high and muddy. Ernie

We did have some luck Cowdoc. Yesterday was the season opener for scuba fossil hunting for me personally. It was a GLORIOUS day. The water was 74 degrees. The speed of the river was tolerable in some places but in the wrong place it was too fast. Did not see a lot of critters, just a few. We found a few specimens. One of the divers found part of a Wooly Mammoth tooth. Want to go back, SOON!

Saturday we found what has the indicators of being a hot fossiling spot. Could only get into the edge of it because the water was too fast. Hoping to find a pristine 4" Black Angustiden there next dive. Found the Black Angy on the right there. Its only 2.25" and is beat up. Put it next to my blue Mako for comparison. Ready to go back!
