We have taken a couple of these repositioning trips and they are great because you get to see a huge area of Indonesia and still get in your 3-4 dives a day. They are usually longer too!
Fly to Manado, spend 5-7 days in Lembeh. Fly from Manado to Sorong and catch a liveaboard to do Raja. Fly from Sorong to Bali and do some diving in Bali. Fly home.

Or. Fly to Manado, spend 5-7 days in Lembeh. Fly from Manado to Sorong and catch a liveaboard to do Raja to Ambon to Maumere to Komodo (the annual string of repositioning cruises). Fly home from Komodo through Bali.

That sounds like a good idea. Which liveaboard did you pick? It sounds like you had a good experience. Thanks

There is always South Lombok, Gili Asahan area, great Macro and the weather should be getting better. Have fun

Bali is great even in April. It's supposed to be the rainy season then, but it rarely rains all day long here. You often get a couple of showers a day, sometimes none for several days and the sun shines at one point during most days.
Diving is great with lots of macro, mantas and sharks. The great thing is that it's not too busy on the island meaning you may be able to get good deals on hotels and you sometimes end up with private guiding even if you haven't paid extra for it.
Bali is likely to be one of you stopovers, so why not give it a try if you're going to be in the country for a full month!

Our last repositioning trip was on the Dewi Nusantara. We started in Komodo where they were finishing their season and then went to Alor and Wakatobi . The clients flew out from Bau Bau ( South Sulawesi) and the boat continued on to Raja Ampat where it went into drydock before it started its RA season! Great trip! We love these kinds of trips because they are longer than usual!

I dove Komodo in September and saw many, many, mantas and sharks and tons of others stuff. The dive guide said we were lucky and said APRIl is the month for mantas. For what its worth. Best diving I have done yet.

Would agree - come to Lembeh first before going onto Raja or Komodo...you can't go wrong with this kind of itinerary!!

The first option above describes exactly what I'm planning for late March/ early April next year. The liveaboard is booked and am just booking the rest over the next few days. Glad to know it seems to be a good plan.

Have a great trip!
