Hey guys, I found this picture of Casey Mckinley doing deco with weights attached to his chest d-ring. Curious for the reason behind it.

I'm going to hazard a guess here.

Notice how "puffed up" his drysuit is? I presume that he had the extra weights available to clip on only for deco stops and he "overfilled" his drysuit for warmth.

That's a deco harness, which is used for the shallower portions of the decompression on long dives in the WKP. No backgas tanks, just a harness, two backplates, an argon bottle, and a small wing. With no tanks, extra ballast needs to be used. The removable drop weights like that make the entire ensamble easier to transport for the support guys and gives some options regarding more or less weight as the situation requires. There's also a dropweight on the crotch d-ring.
