Sad to see that a couple of correspondents to this thread take offence at other people's point of view; . . . . It was hoped that this forum would be an open forum, . . . . too bad.
Nevertheless, - the official diving accident statistics from around the world will tell you that LIFESTYLE (bad lifestyle) carries the majority of the root cause. .. . . Go figure !

SCUBA diving: It is a physical activity; Is it a sport ?? - If yes, please tell which physical activity sport does not require some degree of fitness and a warm-up ??? . . . . Tiddly-Winks excluded.

IMO a sport requires competition. Diving is a recreational activity that requires both physical and mental preparation/ability in order to perform it safely.

Hello Readers:

As far as I can tell, the discussion concerns vigorous warm up vs. moderate warm up activity. I personally cannot see any problem with stretches and the like. While vigorous activity might produce microbubbles, it does appear that the dive to depth will eliminate those nuclei.

Physical fitness is always good – we all know that. Muscles, circulation, and respiration do not differentiate between sport and recreation. Carrying groceries up stairs or running to catch a bus will never be listed as competitive sport but it is exercise. So is diving for recreation. The PADI tables were tested on ordinary folks at all fitness levels. The tables were found to perform well under the conditions tested.

I have always taught that SCUBA diving is an activity that requires good fitness, yet there is not enough physical activity within the endeavor itself to create a good fitness level.
