The North Shore Frogmen Present:

The Battle of Chelsea Creek, May 27, 1775 was the second battle fought in the American Revolution. At this time the areas where the battle took place are now parts of Chelsea, Revere, East Boston and Logan Airport.

Our speaker will be Victor Mastone Director of the Massachusetts Board of Underwater Archeological Resources, part of Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management. “Established in 1973, the Massachusetts Board o...f Underwater Archaeological Resources (BUAR) is the sole trustee of the Commonwealth's underwater heritage, promoting and protecting the public's interests in these resources for recreational, economic, environmental, and historical purposes.” (the section in quotes is directly from the website: Board of Underwater Archaeological Resources)

Victor has worked/is working on several projects related to Underwater Archeology in Massachusetts. These include but are not limited to work on the following projects:

Nipmuc dugout canoes in Lake Quinsigamond

Searching for the old lighthouse at Minot’s Ledge

Searching for Babe Ruth’s piano in a pond in Sudbury

The Battle of Chelsea Creek
