Diving Lake Marion, SC

We hit the Cooper River hard last year and were rewarded with some nice teeth and artifacts. I am very interested if anyone has found sharks teeth in Lake Marion?

I'm reviving an old thread. Has this become a regular dive spot for anyone?

My cousin lives in Sumter, stationed at the Air Force base. I'm trying to help him figure out how to get certified and hoping to show him he has places to dive.

I'm bringing this up because I'm new to the area. I live in Laurinberg, which is on the border of North and South Carolina, right in the middle. I'm looking for a good place to just get wet and try some equipment. I could care less about visibility, just need ease of entry so that I can concentrate on checking new equipment and acclimating after being off due to injury for a long time.

I'd recommend Lake Jocassee or Keowee in the northwest corner of SC. The vid is reasonable and there are plenty of divers. Devils Fork State Park at Jocassee has a boat ramp dedicated for non-motorized craft that divers use every weekend. The end of the ramp can be at 15 ft with a platform about 30 ft and another at 45, all depending on lake level. Makes for easy entries and a great place to test new gear.
