Need suggestions for CENOTE operators

Ben & Jorge at scopiodivers.com have a stellar reputation here on ScubaBoard. Sue and I dove the Cenotes with Alvaro from AlwaysDiving.com and can't say enough good things about him. Cenote dives will always be small. The rules are that the guide must be full cave, dives doubles and long hose, and there can be no more than 4 divers per guide.

Oh, and as far as cenote recommendations: Taj Maha has some wonderful halocline effects and some light show effects, if you hit it at the right time of day/year. Dos Ojos will give you a real sense of cave, I think; I was convinced we went beyond the cavern zone on our tour. Grand Cenote has spectacular decorations, and I sometimes swim the cavern line at the end of a cave dive, just because. There are some other places that the guides sometimes take favored clients, too

I just wanted to let everyone know how I made out diving the cenotes this past week. I had 3 amazing cenote dives all on the same day with Nicolas Casella of CenoteXperience in PDC. Nicholas (and his brother Martin who guided me through some ocean dives out of PDC) were very hospitable, personable, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend their services to everyone!

Nicolas was my guide for Angelita, Dos Ojos and Bat Cave cenotes - all awesome. Thanks Nico! (And thanks to Martin for the great ocean dives - 3 bull sharks on the first dive!!)

hi rcoreytaylor. In response to your query most dive shops in Playa run a cavern operation. Also most will do hotel pick ups even if it is only for one person. So there is no shortage of choices!

I would recommend ourselves Ecodiving Tours (based in Playa) because we are specialists in cenote diving. Our guides are of very high quality and service and safety are our priorities. We run a full transport operation and operate in Cozumel. So I think this might be of convenience to you as you plan your holiday. With regards to which cenotes to dive that is a really tough question! Every single one is different and different people have their favourites for different reasons. In our operation it is possible to speak to the guide on the morning of the dive to ask advice and state what interests you most - the guide can then recommend and choose a the best cavern for you there and then!
