Why not send out a team of Force Fin representatives throughout all the Sport Chalets and have the scuba department actually try them on in the pool? They have the misconception as the regular Force Fin is the same throughout your line. Especially, Sport Chalets do carry your products in the store, they should learn about the product.
Tomorrow, I am going to my cousin's house clear across town just to pick up my Force Fin Extra Force with whiskers just so he can bring this "paddle-like" fin during his open water dives this Saturday.

The original plan was for us to drive from Las Vegas, NV to cabin site cove in Lake Mohave in Arizona because my brother said he only was expected for only two open water dives which I thought was a bit hard to believe. On the last minute of planning the instructor has let us know it was actually four and the problem was Jonas and I only was able to scrap $70.00 just to viz and tumble just two of my old steel Beauchat combination K valves and skinny 2500psi LP tanks and one day 7mm Henderson wetsuit rentals from Scubaviews for $10.00. In short, we were pretty strapped up for cash between the both of us.
At rare cases such as this, or mother was very understanding about Jonas's urge to be an open water diver she gave us a full tank of gas and paid for one day, a case of water and 100.00 split for additional expenses so we can stay at Bullhead City so Jonas can complete his 4 open water dives in Cabinsite Point. This really has saved our skins and of course we had to thank our mother truthfully.
His first dive was on the 24Jul2010 at 0800 I believe they started diving at 10pm or so. Jonas had a problem with his buoyancy along with the positively buoyant and flimsy APS Mantary didn't make his buoyancy any better which has caused his "floaty feet" and was banned to use his Force Fin Excellerators throughout his open water dive. This was fixed with 3lbs weight on each foot, I must admit that was pretty crafty but made much more drag and took away the little propulsion the APS Mantaray already had. His 2nd dive, I played around his Zeagle Ranger and minus a few pounds here and there. Jonas told the instructors he would love to go to his Force fins and again denied.
2nd day went on at the same Cabinsite cove and at the same time. This time they had ankle weights for him, which was very nice of them and he was offered a pair of Mares Volo power, it solved his floaty feet issue but the fins were still lacking plus it side sliced and frustrating him. Of coarse, Jonas asks his instructors if he could use his Force fins and as usual denied on both his dives. Otherwise, the instructors were pretty good, mostly fair for the most part and he has finally passed.
Jonas and I are looking towards the end of August to go diving, this time with our Force Fins and a good possibility will help shave some weight in his BCD. Who knows using Force Fins might even negate the use of purchasing 30.00 ankle weights altogether and still have an adequate propulsion with maneuverability.
Become an Open Water Certified diver. Come to our shop and go SCUBA diving.
We got two air fills for only 5.00 a piece and open for 24 years now

Tropicana Laughlin Hotel & Casino
we bought two Grande burritos with pulled beef, a help yourself condiments table of fresh salsas, two large sodas and a tray full of freshly fried tortilla chips for $6.40 a piece. Cheap and satisfying.

what are their names and instructor numbers, this behavior needs to be reported to the agency and allow them the opportunity to take action, it clearly a violation of ethics and agency rules that an instructor ban a product because their company doesn't sell them,

Meesier42, good luck on getting names. These folks crawl under the rocks when the time comes to fess up. This stuff has been going on since day one, and letters have been sent, calls made, without any changes. This happens to many new concepts. He who is convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.
they just want to sell you what they stock. Personally I don't care what kind of fin you wear as long as you can propel yourself underwater. To make a fuss infront of other customers (students) is very unprofessional imo. If someone shows up with non-dive gear for cw or ow I take them aside in private, (usually "pool toys") but forcefins are scuba fins so the shop just wants to sell what they carry? maybe the gross profit in forcefins isn't big enough?

Meesier42, I had that same effect when i tried to turn my SSI instructor into the agency for the same exact reason. SSI just said they are not responsible for it as they only sell training manuals I am sure all the other agencies are the same way too. One must understand ignorance and the receiving party must learn to cope with it. They were good for the most part so I am not too angry about it.
They work for Sport Chalet and they normally carry the Force Fin originals. Their ignorance can be kept to a minimum with education. It will help to put seminars and emphasize the Force Fin line do have a different fin for different tasks. After the seminar these instructors, people who works in the mountain department, scuba department should try these fins out themselves and if they want a pair for themselves then they can purchase at an employee discount rate as appreciation for their time. Discover scuba program which Sport Chalet has every so often should be good timing for force fin. That way not only them can try it but even those customers who are semi interested in scuba.
Honestly, the only reason why I knew about Force Fin is from my cousin Zerdan whom he used to work for Sport Chalet scuba some years back. Like him, I learned only about Force fin by word of mouth. I feel it is necessary to put workshops for divers in Sport Chalet, they have 34 stores, to educate about Force fin.
