Hi Fellow Divers -

We just returned from diving Fiji (BEST dive trip ever!) I took this photo while diving the Bligh Waters north of Viti Levu. It's a beautiful eel, but I'm having trouble identifying it...can anyone help?

Awww...thanks!:D:D:D

Best guess: Honeycomb Moray. But it is a guess.

Thanks Luku...that's the closest I've seen yet. My buddy thinks it is a Giant Moray, but I'm not able to find any Giant Moray pics that really look like him except in their juvenile phase. :idk: This eel was no juvenile...he was HUGE and I got a video of him coming out to feed! I'm unable to link the video :depressed:

My guess would be a Honeycomb

I can see your logic, but a Honeycomb Moray has spots on his head and face that are just like the ones on his body. My guy is different...his head is even a different color.

I just learned how to upload the video I took of the eel feeding - this will give you a better look at him...be sure to turn up your volume!
