I just got back yesterday from a 3 day live aboard on the GBR and the water temp was 27c.

27c is insane!! that sounds so amazingly warm! The lakes around here have been frozen since october. Even in the summer, the only decent lakes around here are glacier lakes in the mountains. 5c to 10c are average with 1c to 4c in the fall season.

Yeah its beautiful, and usually dive without wet suits until February / March. Doesnt take long to acclimatize now, and so anything under 20 deg C is really cold for us!

Shallow water under 10m can get bit warmer so ideal for snorkelling too. Have had 30 deg in top 5m! Coral doesnt like it for long periods though!!
