Dove the Tramp Steamer today. 60ft dive temp 77F. Viz was resonably good but not steller. Id estimate about 20-25ft. Nice big nurse shark seems to be making its home there. Second time I've seen it there. Somthing else that might be of interest to "I-dive" in his post just before this one. We saw a big Kingfish swimming in with the baracudas. At first we thought it was a 'cuda, but it was much larger, thicker, and a differrent color. At one point, we were being circled by about 40+ extra large amber jacks. For the spear fishermen out there a host of other large game fish were abundant today.
Elsewhere today we were kingfishing and saw a massive one rocket out of the water. Seems like the kings are well on their run.
Cheers,
Walt

Diving off Venice beach for fossils on Saturday. At30 ft (~1 mile off shore), viz around 20 ft and temp was 77. Second dive a little closer in vis dropped to ~10 ft.

The Orange Tug and #3 Barge on the South County had top to bottom vis on Sat the 31st. Easily 35' horizontal. Saw as many as 14 goliaths at once on the barge. 7 at a time on the Tug.

Took some students out with Blue Water Explorers in Bradenton Sunday. Seas were a foot or less. The water temp was 71 @ 40 feet on both dives. Vis ranged from 20 ft down to 5ft. Not perfect for students, but a good experience for them. :palmtree: Bob

Aprox. 2 miles offshore somewhere between Clearwater and Anclote
Key. Surface temp...nice water temp at 18 ft dunno...brrr major
shrinkage noted. Shot 3 over 16" Sheepshead, aquired a bucket of
stone claws and one crusty 1/2 stocked lost fishing tackel box. Also
brought back to shore aprox 300 ft of tangeled fishing line and rusted
hooks. Down time 1hr 18 min. Viz (great) aprox. 30-40ft.

In 52' to 62' yesterday, just north of the Whistler, we had 20' visibility. Hazy but plenty good enough to shoot and navigate. 3' to 4' seas, and about 72*F. More in a photo thread later.

Sharkey's @ Venice - 17' - 68 degrees - viz 6 inches to 1 foot.
