Trying to find a place to stay for my wife and I when we head down in February. We will be doing mostly diving all day and dining out in the evenings. We stayed in Key Largo last year and had a great time with great diving (Cpt. Jarvis) and heard great things about Islamorada. I've read about the Islander, Chesapeke and Moorings - all with both good and bad reviews.

We would like to have a beach.

Also, we are told Key Dives is the way to go te dive ops - any thoughts?

Thx in advance.

Last Nov. stayed at http://www.ragged-edge.com/ really liked the place and would stay there again. No beach, but have pool and great ocean view.
Also in the past have stayed at http://www.pcove.com/ they have a small manmade beach. Also would stay there again.
Never dove with the shops in Islamorada instead I would make the run back up to KL and dove with Silent World. http://www.silentworldkeylargo.com/index.html
Something we did do that we really enjoyed was a day trip fishing on the Miss Islamorada

Have fun, Al

You can't go wrong with the resorts you mentioned. When you are not diving, do your surface intervals at the History of Diving Museum! Mention ScubaBoard and get $2 off per adult admission.

Ask for me when you visit, I always like to meet my ScubaBoard friends in person.

Conch Republic. I have used them before Gary is the man. I have also heard very good things about Keys Diver. THey have a nice web site. Chillie Willeies(sp?) is a cool bar with good food. Islamorada diving is pretty shallow. Don't miss out on the Eagle wreck.

The Keys suck if your a beach person, They do truck sand in and the hurricanes take it away!Islamorada is a nice stay more central to day trips north or south, Get to Robbie's! to feed the Tarpon!! and of course a cold beer!
