Maybe it's just me but it sure is starting to sound like the summer of the whale shark in the Upper Gulf of Mexico.

Here are some photos I got via email of a whale shark near the Thunderhorse platform off the Louisiana coast. I'm just really thankful to the big oil companies for the billion dollar floating artificial reefs ...

Disclaimer -- I don't know who this is so please don't blame me if you're offended by the guy hugging a whale shark.....but gosh these things are HUGE!

Well since I figured out how to upload attachments, here are a few photos of the whale shark we saw at the 3 Coal barges a few weeks back.

Awesome pictures, too bad the guy had to cling on to him, but I'm sure the WS will be ok. Anyone have any clue as to why there are so many up here? I've heard of them coming into the Gulf, but never heard of this many coming so far north...

They are spotted every year, but this year has definately had alot of sightings.

Who knew they had such pretty water off the Louisiana coast. I assume this was pretty far out to be that blue.

Jeez, did that guy HAVE to cling all over the shark like he was trying to rape her? Knock if off dork.

Years ago while diving at MC-311 which sits in 400 feet, 40 miles south of Grand Isle, LA a whale shark spent the day with us.
