Yes. And along with what's been stated already, it will also increase your tolerance to CO2 so diving under stress/demand will tax you less and it also is a great confidence builder!

I don't know that you can (or would want to) increase your "tolerance" of C02. It tends to have nasty effects on the body, especially at elevated PC02's. It's also, if you subscribe to the Meyer-Overton rule, 130 times more narcotic than Nitrogen.

It's the simple principle of hypoxic training and it can benefit everyone from divers to elite level athletes.
 
What is the benefit of increased tolerance to C02?

The physiological benefit? It allows for a longer breath-hold without that impending starved for air feeling. This could potentially help a diver who finds themselves out of air at depth. The psychological benefit? It gives a strong sense of comfort and confidence to a diver and helps eliminate the fear of the aforementioned incident. Any anaerobic training activity will work toward this increased tolerance. Breath-hold activities just train it directly.
