Hi All,

We booked a last minute to hurghada, departing next week. I've never been there, and need some advice on dive sites which i realy should dive. I go with my girlfriend, who is not too experienced yet.

What are the absolute do's???

Thanks for the reply's!

Salud,

Giftun drift 40m+easy
Shabrur Umm gammar 40m+easy(wreck starts at 32m)
Careless reef plateau at 18m over the edge into the abyss.:D
Torfa Hamda 30m+
Just to name a few,If you need more,I'll go find my log.:D
Some sites that are very frequently visited by daily dive boats and are all between 6 and 12 meters depth are:
Marsa Abu Galawa
Gotea Abu Galawa
Shaab Eshta
Shaab Petra
Fanous East
Fanous West
Shaab Arabia
Abu Ramada
Gotea Abu Ramada
Abu Nugar
Shaab El Erg
Erg Sabina

Is that the majority, or not yet?

El Mina in the harbour is 18 to 30 to the bottom
Abu Hashish is 20+
All four of the wrecks at Abu Nuhas are 18+

I would also disagree that the majority are between 6 to 12 metres because the bottom is 1200m!!!!
But there is nothing stopping you from staying between 6 to 12 metres.
No reputable dive centre will put an inexperienced diver on the El Mina to 30m or send them to the Carnatic.
But, depending on the number of dives you and your beloved wish to do, I would try at least to get an Abu Nuhas trip (in good flat weather) toward the latter end of your hols after she has done 6/8 more dives and is in the swing of the routine.

I would make sure I got one dive at "the dolphin house" at Shaab el ergh... its a beatiful dive around a coral island, with chances of meeting dolphins underwater in the channel...
