I really try to not anchor in more than 30' if I dont have a windlass and on my current boat I dont, its a lot of work hauling up 20' + or whatever chain and anchor a couple hundred feet you do that 2-3 times and youre done, not to mention all the kelp and crap you pull up. The liftbag is a good idea, I actually have one I have never used. BTW I always dive my anchor and give it a better set, most of the time there isnt much pressure in the anchor and less than 5' of chain off the bottom with a 7:1 scope in the average dive conditions I dive in
